Hello, I am a college student doing a Term paper on the Dobuans and I was wondering if this is a relevant clip to show to class about the culture? I can honestly tell you that this is the hardest group finding good facts about them and Im so lost. Can you show me or tell me sites to find them. I would greatly need your help. Please help!

Hi deMosiko..
I was wondering if you are from the Salomon Islands.. I read a book recently called The Dragon Snake, and want to know if there is any truth in it.
Very nice music by the way.

According to the anthropological science, Melanesian peoples (including most Solomon Islanders) are, together with Polynesians and Micronesians, commonly known as Austronesian and originate from SE Asia (Taiwan). Aboriginal people of Australia and people of PNG highlands are of much older migrations.
African link is not probable, except MAdagascar, who are also Austronesians and migrated there from SE Asia.
Different migrations, of course, created such a diversity and richness of people

Culturally we maybe similar to Polynesians due to thousands of years of trading, but majority of Solomon islands are Melanesian which don't share the same genealogy as Polynesians our ancestry is Papuan, Australian Aboriginals and Africans. My people seemed to be more conservative with a lot social Taboos not sure in poly culture but they seem to embrace European culture more readily. Guam is a good example of culture destruction no dis-respect meant to the Chamorro elders and people.

I have never been sooooooo proud as a Solomom Islander.

This uniqueness is what makes us soo diffrent from the world.
