This video is PART 1 of a lighting and posing demonstration by Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Co-Founder Sandy Puc'. The intended use is to make this video demonstration available to NILMDTS members so they may be better educated and trained on how to work with a NILMDTS baby in the hospital. CAUTION to anyone not familar with NILMDTS. This is for teaching purposes and not recommended for the general public. The material we cover in this video involves bereavement photography. NILMDTS volunteers provide free portraiture services to families in hospitals and hospices around the world allowing them to have keepsake photographs of their babies who will never come home from the hospital. As it is discussed in this video, some of the infants our volunteers work with have already passed, and thus, the sensitive nature of the video. Please view with caution. Fantastic video, thank you very much.

But what should I do without a light box and lighting meter, could I just work with the natural light ?

  • Natural light may work for some sessions, but certainly not for all. You can also use diffusers, smaller soft boxes, or bounce your flash. For more lighting and photography tips, you can visit our forum and chat with other photographers. A new web training video will also be released after January 1, 2011 that will give additional lighting demonstrations.
