Hi You Tubers and friends,
I have posted this video following my Freedom Trail 3rd - 9th July 2006 (the video is of a trip like mine and follows the same path) trek to raise money for The Royal British Legion in 2006 - which seems along time ago now.
In a recent R4 broadcast Edward Stourton undertook the same trip guided by Scott Goodall. Scott who was our guild for the memorable trip tracing in the footsteps of those who were escaping the Nazis crossing the boarder from France (leaving the train at ST Girons) and walking across the Pyrenees to Spain - many not making it in clothing far less then we had to protect us.
This event I found very inspiring and at the end emotional - I cried when we made Spain I was thinking about those who had had not got though and how the sacrifice made allowed me my freedom today.
Many on the trip you will see in the video can on my trip and enjoy the video and the kindness of the people of France who as Passers helps and were betrayed sometimes by their own countryman.
This trip latter inspired me to climb Everest as it is a hard three days with no going back from day two - one of our members was airlifted out due to exhortation - so it is not easy my any stretch of the imagination.
