EPISODE 3: When Michelle Rhee assumed control of Washington, DC's public schools in June, she told us that she expected her direct, no-nonsense approach to stir things up. And it has. Now, seven months into the job, her plans to close 15% of the schools under her control and fire central office workers at will are drawing fierce criticism from unions, teachers, and parents.

  • Goddamn we're a nation of morons. The issue of education is so ridiculously complicated, but shit heads like her want to boil it down to "teachers bad". Oh, OK, thanks for clearing that up for us Mrs. Rhee. By the way, why did you only stick with teaching for three years or so? I mean, you care SO MUCH about underprivileged kids, right?

  • @MsJanetWood I have one simple question. Why is it that your user is blocked what do you have to hide.

  • @beenn15

SIng it loud and sing it proud!!!!

MsJanetWood is obviously a union backer, and wants to maintin status quo.

To listen to these people you can't blame the teachers, you can't blame the prinicpals, you can't blame the administrators.

The only thing left in the system is the kids and shool buildings.

I guess we could blame them, but that would be stupid

  • @beenn15 I 100 percent agree with you! unfortunately people like Ms.Janetwood are the reason we are still where we are. They are afraid of change! We need to bring people in to do their jobs right ! That is what I am trying to do with where I work!

  • TYPO-CORRECTION: INNER-CITY

  • When does the individual take responsibility for their own actions! When does a person stop blaming the system,

For example, parents that let their kids eat candy and never brush their teeth or floss, should they blame the dentist for all their kids' cavities?

No! Because, it is up to the individual!

God bless the hard-working, dedicated, BRAVE teachers who face the inter-city every day! Teaching the children of gang-members, drug addicts, prostitutes, illegal aliens, poverty . . .

  • @MsJanetWood I would blame POLICE OFFICERS who take money from criminals

I would blame DOCTORS with a record of mishaps.

I would blame LAWYERS who hardly ever win a case.

I would blame BORDER PATROL AGENTS who take kickbacks from ILLEGAL border crossing ALIENS.

I would blame SOCIAL WORKERS who write up phony WELFARE CASES.

    yes... why?

Because they are incompetent at their jobs. They make their coworkers look bad and affect the whole system.

    EMBRACE COMPETENCE.

  • Would you BLAME the POLICE OFFICER working in a HIGH CRIME AREA?

Would you BLAME the DOCTOR working in a hospital with a lot of SICK people?

Would you BLAME the LAWYER working with a lot of CRIMINALS?

Would you BLAME the BORDER PATROL AGENTS for all the ILLEGAL ALIENS that are crossing the border?

Would you BLAME the SOCIAL WORKER with a lot of WELFARE CASES?

    NO? Why not?

Because there are other FACTORS beyond their control! STOP BLAMING THE TEACHERS!

    DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

  • thanks for the video upload.... the bureaucracy in some of these academic school systems are just ridiculous. the fight for tenure and the job security has clearly drowned the goals of the system
