Source SDK Tutorial - Setting up

The beginning bit has changed, choose the 2009 engine version, then ddouble click on REFRESH SDK CONTENT and RESET GAME CONFIGURATIONS. The games should then appear there.

FOLLOW THIS TUTORIAL IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE SETTING UP THE SOURCE SDK. I THINK THIS TUTORIAL COVERS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH SETTING IT UP, COMMENT IF YOU THINK THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS REMAINING.

* You need a Source based game, like the ones mentioned at the beginning of this video, to be able to access Hammer.

I realised that my first Source SDK tutorial was quiet and very dated by today's standards, in both quality and content. I am re-doing the main tutorial in a (hopefully) fool-proof manner.

This tutorial shows you how to set up Hammer (the map editing programme for Source games). You only need to follow this once, unless you reformat your PC or reinstall Steam.

If you have the gameinfo.txt or 'no game configuration files found' errors, this tutorial will help.

@TheRouch12 There... isn't a button called 'play game'... or is there? Are you talking about the compile button? Try pressing f9 instead.

@3kliksphilip i just did a scan of the files found an error when i downloaded it and rather than re-installing it i found it easier to correct the code my self.

@3kliksphilip yes it still does not work. the error which is shown are both of which are shown in your video and i have refreshed and played it several times however it does work for portal and tf2

@clubpokemon224 What does it say when you try to load it up for CSS? Also, have you got CSS installed, have you played it since you installed it, and have you tried REFRESH SDK CONTENT and RESET GAME CONFIGURATIONS in the Source SDK menu? Does it still not work?
