Video of the last day of the International 4 Day Marches in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. This captures the true spirit of these marches. This time; bagpipes!
I did the 4 Day March in 1976 with a U.S. Army unit (709th MP Bn). It was the 60th Anniversary of the 4 Day Marches as well as the American Bi-Centennial. The bagpipes especially bring back some fond memories. One of the units that was first to leave in the morning from Camp Humensoord has a bagpipe group. They would start out with Scotland Be Brave signaling time to get up. The third day was a killer....hated to hear those bagpipes, but some 35 years later, brings back many smiles!
