Memorial sculpture of slain San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk (1930-1978) at the top of the stairs outside of the Board of Supervisors chamber in City Hall. The base of the bust includes a quotation from Harvey Milk, and three bas reliefs - one of the candlelight memorial vigil, one of Harvey Milk as a U.S. Navy officer, and one of Harvey Milk riding in a convertible car in the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade. You gotta give 'em hope."

I love this. Went to see Milk at the cinema. Had to hang back at the end as I was in floods of tears I tell you, really got me. I guess this bust would be in the very City Hall Harvey and the mayor were murdered. Lovely they have credited him with such a nice statue.
You've inspired me to upload my unveiling of the Alan Turing statue in Manchester. It's on super 8 though, so I will need to get it transferred first.
Good post. XXX
