At 2023 hours, Lehigh County 9-1-1 dispatched companies 26 and 8 to 3845 Buck Hill Circle in Lowhill for a House fire. Fire dispatcher reports additional info as a chimney fire with possible extension into the walls.

Upon arrival, command reported heavy smoke showing and struck the second alarm. The area lacks fire hydrants due to its rural geographics. Tankers supplied water to the scene which delayed and hampered firefighters from attacking the fire quickly.

The house is large, at over 4,600 sq. ft., but as you can see, it didn't take long for the flames to destroy a house of this size.

  • who is ladder 51, and are they new or did they replace another station?

  • calling all deck guns and 2 1/2s lol.

  • Actually it was much more than 2 alarms. I'm not sure why people are saying it was 2 alarms. We went to 2nd alarm when the first officer arrived and it grew from there. We called aerials, several engines (pumpers) and ran 20+ tanker shuttles. We put an estimated 63,000 gallons of water on this - just in the initial attack. There were roughly 75 firefighters, medics, and Red Cross personnel there to assist the family and each other. This was a terrible loss.

  • oh wow sounded pretty bad... but jeeze

  • jeees they pulled out all the stops on this one what was it 4 tankers, 2 rescues and 2 latters???
