@MarkQP ...Because the interviewers think Japan=anime. If you notice, he will only answer about his childhood (old) anime. When they ask about "current ones", he will only mention a famous Ghibli film from the 90s. Why? Because in Japan, anime is associated with children - or hardcore nerds. You don't go around asking grown men what their favourite anime is, it's almost insulting. I'm not saying anime is bad - I'm an adult and there are some anime I like, but it is not a public question.

Daigo always uses really polite Japanese with foreigners (He uses desu and Masu at the end of his sentences ) . He shows respect to them by doing this. A lot of japanese don't do this with foreigners. How do I know that? I lived in Japan for a few years when I was a kid and picked up the language really quickly cos I was little and it's always easy for kids to learn. Love him or hate him, Daigo is a friendly, nice guy.
