Actually, I don't think that this theme fits Sephiroth. It mainly fits the BATTLE BETWEEN Sephiroth and Cloud.

Here is something funny. In the game version of OWA, supposedly JENOVA asks Sephiroth not to let her die, but in the movie version, after Sephiroth had been broken into Remnants, she asks him to give her death once again. Strange, no?
