I saw Izo the other day, while I didn't agree with some of the scenes (a lady pulls a sword out of her vagina, what the hell is that?) I thought this was one of the more important theme's of the movie. Japan's frustration after the bombing of Hiroshima, not only did it change the nation of Japan but it changed the world. And maybe the whole movie was supposed to be symbolic of the frustrations of mankind at itself with a history of terrible violence and being unable to understand each other.
I think the most important scene was when the woman pulls the katana out of her vagina. It's a metaphor for the violence instilled in children even from birth and conception. So yeah what do you say to that.

I saw IZO the other day, and while I didn't agree with some scenes (a woman pulls a sword out of her vagina, what the hell is that?) I thought this scene was the most important in the film. I think it's supposed to symbolize the major theme of Japan's post Hiroshima frustrations, not only did the bomb change Japan, but it changed the world. IZO is Symbolic of the frustrations of humanity with it's history of terrible violence and not being able to understand each other.
