Simple way-Put a piece of rubber below the armadillo. Uncompress it so it'll hit him. Put cloth between the two points. Work with the rubber a tiny bit till he lands on the cloth. 2$ remaining.

with the overhead slide you just need to attach the elastic(yelow/orange rope) to the metal sheet that slides. then on the other end or the elastic attach some blue cloth but make sure when the ball falls it is cought in the cloth. the metal sheet will then slide and carry the bal held in the cloth. but then you need something to block the slide from falling of the edge but i think you can do that yourself
