A few things change as well now pass the 10th show but rest assured that the basics are still here.
I haven't been able to finish off any series just yet, I'm working on three right now but since some of the trades can be hard to find I'm reluctant to recommend any until I've had a good chance to really read them.
As a result I am giving you two stand alones:
Superman Chronicles -- This is a fantastic way to see the way that the two brilliant minds behind the superman comics envisioned their hero. Superman is my all time favourite hero and I was really happy that this book came out. I get to see the way that the character started off before modern times have transformed him. If you love Superman you need to have this on your self.
Sandman Endless nights -- Neil Gaiman put together 7 stories (one for each of the endless) and had different artists do the work. I am constantly amazed at the stories that he comes up with and the beauty that they are presented to us in. These are some fantastic side stories to the Endless universe and well worth the read if you enjoyed the Sandman series of comics.
New Releases:
Lazarus -- It's not a bad start to a series (I've read worse) but it's not a great start. We're introduced to a character and when I looked at the cover I knew right away what was going to happen and to whom...so why did it take till the last page really to see it? I think it will get better but I'll wait till the first trade and see that.
Abyss -- Now here is a great start to a story. It's only going to be 4 books but I'm going to enjoy every page of this one I think. The story revolves around a boy of wealth whose father mysteriously dies (or does he) only to find out that his father has a secret life (as an evil super-villain) Good art great story.
Until next week keep reading.
If you haven't checked it out yet I heartily recommend The Umbrella Academy from Dark Horse comics. It's written by Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance, and unlike some "celebrity" writers this guy knows comics and can write good comics. The universe has a distinctive flavor and depth from the first few pages. If Grant Morrison and Mike Mignola had launched X-Men back in the 60's, it'd have looked a lot like this.

You are right it is a great series, I mentioned book one a few weeks ago. I'm looking forward to seeing how the story develops but so far the first two have been well thought out.
