Also not sure on the treatments listed at the end. medication cannot stop switching of personalities, and responding to one identity only often pisses off all the other ones if they happen to be the presenting person. Just FYI
This is a really good message to have on youtube. I am going to send this to my Abnormal Psych professor. It is short and too the point but it is powerful and brave. Kudos to you kids for making a video that is simple to explain the REAL disorder that is commonly considered fake and "due to vivid imaginations."
To people who are saying that this isn't accurate - it's an amateur video for a project. It's short and restricted. It's basic, but it has the general idea of DID. So please, go away.
Thank you all for trying to educate people of this disorder. I have strggled with it my whole life. I am glad your generation is being iterested on learning and have compation for those who have to live with this horrible condition. Bless you all
DID is not a rare disorder and I'll explain since I have DID myself.
Individuals like myself when we are dissociating we will not disclose this of ours disorder to anyone. This is due to a symptom of DID. Secrecy is how I'll describe this symptom. When we are not dissociating we will not disclose our disorder here either simply because we are unable to remember the dissociating event. Amnesia.
Due to this secrecy symptom of ours doctors usually misdiagnose and label us as being schizophrenia.

@dolphin64575 I agree with this.

quick fact: DID is not as rare as people think, multiples simply get very good at acting single. :)

@thepeoplearecrazy101 - Then you make a video that is the same length and more accurate then. Let's see what you can come up with.
