CandleLight Celebration for Donation

In honor of all men, women and children who are on the waiting list to receive an organ transplant, which in many cases may be the difference between life and death, we will light one candle for every 10 Pennsylvania residents in need of a transplant. We are searching for 713 individuals to stand on the steps of the Capital Building in Harrisburg on March 31, 2009 to represent the 7,130 individuals waiting.

On March 31, 2009, representatives from Donate Life Pennsylvania, Gift of Life Donor Program, the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE), the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will host a Candlelight Celebration for Donation on the steps of the PA Capitol Building, to kick-off National Donate Life Month. We invite you and your friends to be a part of this impactful event. With your help, we can create awareness for Pennsylvanians to
designate themselves and give the gift of life by registering as an organ and tissue donor.

The preliminary agenda is as follows:
6:30 p.m. Check-in/registration
7:00 p.m. Opening remarks
7:05 p.m. First candles are lit and passed to next person
7:20 p.m. Speeches and testimonials
7:30 p.m. Final remarks
7:35 p.m. Photo of all participants
7:45 p.m. Conclusion
