@EwolDJ While his lyrics are often very complex, as you said, it's funny that this flub occurred in a song whose lyrics are so very simple and straightforward. Flub or no, the man's a genius.

It's the only time I've ever seen him fluff a line, (accidentally). But given the complexity of his lyrics and music, that's quite an achievement in itself.

HA! I am becoming a Tom Waits fan... And I love that he wrote this song about a place which has always remained a sort of bucolic fantasy for me from childhood, when I lived there around 1957 and 1958?. I was around 10? (Born in 1948). It was such a lovely place, with places to go ice skating and farms and corn fields right next door. The people were so friendly. Had my first kiss there (spin the bottle) in Johnsburg, Illinois.
Thanks for immortalizing it Tom.
