Diarmaid Ferriter, the Burns Library Visiting Scholar in Irish Studies for 2008-09, presents a talk titled Unfulfilled Promise? Irish Politics and the Quest for the Just Society, 1967-2007. Ferriter is also a professor of modern Irish history at University College Dublin.

  • A brilliant man. Accused of populism? No... populism is blaming England for all our woes whilst continuing to maintain a deeply inequal society. This man articulates all I've ever felt about my homeland but was incapable of articulating for fer of being labelled 'bitter little man'. All credit to Dermot.
