I have the same problem.... only mine doesn't go away when I remove the front plastic cover. I have put a peice of paper between my screen ad the battery and it stays fixed so long as the paper applies pressure.... any ideas on what part might be faulty?

I had the same problem. It was driving me nuts. I finally fixed it by applying an approach similar to rgavril. I squeezed the bottom of the screen near the base of the column of horizontal bars. In some places it got worse, in some places in got better. The trick was instead of squeezing gently (which only temporarily took the lines away) I finally got angry/desperate and squeezed very hard. Going on two weeks now and not a single flicker. Sanity restored and no need to buy a new screen.

so I had this problem when I took my laptop out of the box back in 2007...had warranty still so after playing calling Dell numerous times they finally sent a technician over to replace it...i remember him saying that this is frequent thing with the thin display because when there is pressure applied to the ribbons or screen it's more likely to break because it's delicate. After a few years of use problem came back...but did the same thing as rgavril and problem is fixed...for now at least.

Thank you very very much. I had the same issues with my m1330. I've been searching for screens for a while now until I saw your youtube video. I removed the plastic front cover, pressed in the center... and gone is the problem. Thank you so much. I just LOVE internet you know! Is your screen still working fine?
@RunningAfterAntelope, Thanks for your quick response. I guess I have to order an LCD since my warranty is out. That problem you were having exist randomly or it was a permanent horizontal lines? I did try rgavril's method and the problem still there. It just comes and goes

@bt4kn It went from infrequent to frequent and finally to permanent, to the point of total illegibility. You're going to have to bite the bullet. The repair is simple. Just be very, very delicate, and use the right size screwdriver.

Is the screen still working for you?

@bt4kn Since the technician replaced my LCD display, I've had no problems with it.
