Finnish Airforce F18C Hornet demonstrates STOL capabilities as part of it's flying display at Fairford on 19th July 2009. As you can probably tell; it was raining!

@cyblues It is my pleasure. Nothing worse than looking at a clip where you expect to hear engine noise and finding Jean Michel Jarre etc. Jet engines are music enough for me.

@phoenixsui The Swiss Hornet was very good and did fly at RIAT 2009 but for some reason didn't end up filming it. Thanks for the comment @phoenixui

Nice video! I was under a carp brolly on the farm opposite, sad that 2 years in a row the weather was rubbish but still a great show!

@MetaliCanuck Ofcourse F-18 is from USA orginaly. But like Canadians, we Finns tweaked those to resistance cold and some other updates to operate in nordic areas. That cos almost as much as the plane it self.

Our F-18 you can fly to the northpole and back :)
