There were other things going on in the other end of the pavilion and the noise is coming from there, not the audience. The audience was paying attention and apparently enjoyed our music quite a bit. It helped that they had microphones and amplification set up.

the crowd is a little noisy...were they pay attention to what you guys were doing?

I have been looking for a great bass recorder for 2 years now!!! Wehere do you buy them from?
mattmo2007 3 years ago
We got ours directly from the manufacturer (Mollenhauer) about nine years ago. They can be had through at least a couple of online sources: Bill Lazar's (lazarmusic[dot]com) and the Boulder Early Music store (bems[dot]com). They aren't cheap, of course, and if you're lucky you might find a decent used on on eBay or some such place, but you're always taking a chance that way, especially if you won't get a chance to look it over and play it first.

BASS RECORDERS ARE HUGE AND AWSUM

The large one is a great bass recorder and yes, it's huge and awesome. Then there are the contrabass recorders that are even huger. Then there's the subcontrabass recorder that is totally monstrous!

If you visit Bill Lazar's site (lazarmusic[dot]com) and do a bit of looking around, you'll see a picture of the subcontrabass with the lady that made it.
