WARNING: Satirical themes some viewers may find offensive.

A short film written and directed by Theo Marlow, 'Randolph Hutler' was devised as a substitute for the 13 notes of historical chronology in 'The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui" by Bertolt Brecht, which was put on in December 2011 by the KCL King's Players Society. It was directed by Charlie Kenber and produced by Alice Crinnigan.

"Arturo Ui" is a parable of Hitler's rise to power (hence the connection to Hitler in the film) and in traditional performances of the play, in between most of the scenes the actors would hold up a sign which explained the historical counterpart event to the scene the audience had just seen. In this particular production, the director asked me to come up with an idea for a series of film clips which would not only serve as replacements to the historical notes, but would also directly disengage the audience from the diegetic world of the play itself (a very Brechtian device).

Starring: Helen Bauer and Adam Woollard.
