Summer is one dimensional because it's Tom's perspective. The point is that she *is* a fantasy girl and Tom puts her up on a pedestal and *doesn't* love her as a 3 dimensional person but more as his fantasy. I think the movie makes a good point of showing that Tom was blissfully ignorant of many of their incompatibatible

I finally saw it! Nice review... It is a totally charming story with engaging performances. Some of the devices were borderline too 'clever' for me, but overall the experience made me feel good! Check out my review at 'Gab and Dad'...

yeah I agree with just about everything. I really liked it and enjoyed it. The nonlinear structure was also not distracting, and it was probably my favorite part.

Lovely setting, guys - I can hear the birds tweeting; how appropriate! I'd like to see this one, but may have to wait for rental. I enjoy your thoughtful, perceptive reviews! That's what I aim for with Dad, but we get too verbose and combative sometimes. ;) Gab

I like that idea that its about a "perception of the relationship." That's a really good point to make. I was also very surprised by the fact that, despite the flashback/flash-forward structure, there was actually a revelation at the end that was fairly unexpected. Great review!

its not because she is just cute...........
and many people have been fussign about Summer's character but i think.... i understood Summer's situation...............
she just dint love him and she wasnt looking for a serious relationship....and by the end how she explains things to TOM and how she breaks his heart...is something well understood......
