  • The neccessity of race and of racism is always tied to the matrices of power.

Power in this country has always been material not intellectual.

To safeguard power, you have to divide people and find concrete, tangible factors that can achieve this division.

Race is an easy dividing point for people. You can exploit people's prejudices both covert and overtly.

Thus racism is a systemic phenomena that serves to punish and oppress people of color for the overall "good" of society.

  • great video !!! Im reading the wages of whiteness by roediger and its very telling on labor history and the making of the working class. Basically Roediger's main point is that the trauma of capitalism encouraged whites to project repress and identify.
