Sappi's Workshop at Compostmodern's Unconference

How do you navigate through the maze of information about sustainability when designing for print?

On January 23rd, 2011 Sappi held a workshop on Day 2 of Compostmodern's Unconference. Sappi's workshop held a vibrant discussion about print, paper, and the environment, which featured Laura Thompson Ph.D., Sappi's Director of Technical Marketing and Sustainable Development; Beto Lopez, Senior Designer of IDEO's Sustainability Initiative; Allan Chochinov, Core77 Partner and Advisory Member of the Designers Accord; and Richard Kouwenhoven, Vice President of Client Services at Hemlock Printers Ltd. Participants engaged in an open dialogue about the entire print life cycle and left participants with a framework for making the best sustainability decisions as they move forward with their design work.
