This is one of the best tracks from the rare Koala LP, released in 1969. The Koala was a New York garage/psych band led by the songwriting team of Jose Mala and Joey Guido. Their lead guitarist was Louis Dambra, who founded one of the first metal acts, Sir Lord Baltimore.
The Koala released one LP on Capitol, which was produced by Bob Wyld and Art Polhemus, the team behind the Blues Magoos. The album was highly sought after by collectors for years and was finally issued on CD in 2006.
The marketing for this group as an Australian band is totally goofy, courtesy of Bob Wyld.
