My Doubles Event.

I Left A Lot Of Pins Out On The Lane, Missed Easy Spares And Didn't Make The Right Adjustments Early Enough. Early On I Played Outside And Once I Moved It Was Not Fast Enough.

Oil: Tight Medium
Ball: Virtual Gravity

  • A less aggressive ball would have been a good choice. All the better bowlers who were using aggressive balls; i.e., Virtual Gravity, had them polished. I tried a dull Attitude Shift to start the tournament off but it was so over/under I put it in the bag after the practice session. If you stay behind the ball, as you appear to do, a ball with less surface is the best choice even if the lanes are slick; if gives you a bit more pull area which can definitely come in handy on a tough shot.

  • You are 100% correct about the over under with the more aggressive balls, I tried to use my factory finished Virtual Gravity in team and was TOO stubborn to make a ball change to The Sauce which would have definitely given my tug room.

  • Most of the better bowlers were playing up ten or fifteen. As the lanes transitioned they moved further left. I bowled team and my ball was hooking left the minute it hit the lane; shot 569. In doubles I had a little bit of pull area but no swing area; I shot 635. In singles the lanes started to dry out and I only shot 615. three solid eight pins on strikes: one in team, singles, and doubles cost me about fifty pins. All in all a pretty good tournament for me but I could have done better.

  • It was just SOOO tight outside and straight up so for ME...I should have never tried, and I knew that going into it. This was my 3rd time bowling nationals. I should have used a less aggressive ball the entire tournament, but I am still learning.
