It was Thursday night when Castillo -- during a bench clearing brawl -- threw a ball at full-speed toward the opposing team's dugout. The ball apparently went into the stands -- striking a fan in the head. What ensued can only be described as mayhem ... A ten minute brawl that led to the ejection of 15 players. Now -- if convicted -- Castillo could face eight years in prison.SOT:(Kevin Braig/Defense Attorney) no prior criminal history, strong ties to the team, etc The fan -- identified by police as 44 year-old Chris McCarthy -- was treated and released from the hospital. Fans told police that McCarthy was knocked senseless and became incoherent. julio castillo played down in the mexican minor league system in 2010, he was still throwing pretty hard but couldnt throw a strike..

And after he threw the ball, which was a gut reaction to whatever, everyone jumped in, which was their gut reaction. Maybe baseball should be teaching some fundamentals like how to react if someone does something really stupid by not acting stupid yourself. And I guess our reaction has always been to feel sorry for them which is why they still have their jobs and aren't fired on the spot.

He got 30 days in jail and 3 years probation. He seems to have fallen off the radar baseball wise after 2009. At least I can't find anything on him. (I didn't look that hard)
