@VVBninja I was trying to decipher it through the baby speech. I hadn't noticed the "using the IPA" part. So, yep, that's pretty much it. Though I find his transcriptions kinda weird but oh well... Mystery solved.

@VVBninja Good point. Like ɪ and ʉ... I don't get it either.

@msclrhd What the voice is fricative? O.o But fricative is a manner or articulation, not a voice... At least that's what I know.
Anyway
Funny video.

haha, my linguistics professor showed this in class, very funny.

This video is AWESOME! It's so nice to see the workings of a true phonetics nerd (just like myself!)...

This is awesome! I liked the baby talk (even though I couldn't follow most of it).
And the telephone conversation was very funny as well. "No, no, alveolar. Yeah, yeah, the voice is fricative!" :D. I bet the person on the other end is going "what is this guy talking about?!".

I laughed so hard at this, especially the phone conversation! =D
I'm just getting into linguistics and didn't understand all of it, but this is brilliant. I would love to see some good IPA educational videos... I know there are some out there, but being funny helps.

Glad you enjoyed it, it was fun to make. There's heaps out there, but be careful, I've noticed some teach the I-for-Idiosyncratic rather than I-for-International Phonetic Alphabet (possibly mine included!). Good luck! Philip
