Presently, 40 Million people know the Braille system which provides the visually impaired with a means to read, write and express themselves. All thanks to the innovation and determination of a ten year old blind boy named Louis Braille.

  • If I am for any reason ever jealous of french people, it is because Loius Braille is french. In my opnion, the world worships false heros , but ignores the real gems like Loius Braille or Louis Pasteur.

  • i am so pissed. i read a book about him as a child and there's NO movie! no one cares. he was a genius. there was a lettering system in place when he was sent to the school for the blind, but it was very difficult. so he invented his own and took a lotta damn beatings for it! give the kid some respect!

  • I really wish this was narrated. This is about a blind man and those of us who are blind cannot enoy it. It drives me nuts that things about Louis Braille or Helen Keller are not narrated. UGH!

  • @fuzzyfirexknuckleslo Oh well in that case, sorry. I agree. It's "evil" LOL. My speed is very slow. I was not born blind. I had sighted and then I was not..just like that (injury) so I know what you mean. I feel like I can't keep up. It took me a while to be able to do Grade 1 braille. Of course most books are in Grade 2 and I am having trouble with it. I get very frustrated with it. VERY.

I apologize if I misunderstood your statment.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  • @DarkQuietWyattON

    Sigh again ok....

i AM blind and the reason why i said that was because i am not happy with my reading speed, compared to my fellow students i feel slower i have been learning braille for multipule years but feel no improvment.

I am a student at the washington state school for the blind and i dont know what i was thinking at the moment but i geuss i wrote evil to summrize i just am frustrated with it

  • Ok, I had to have my aide tell me what was in here. If you are going to do a video about braille, maybe you could narrate it because some of us are blind.

  • @fuzzyfirexknuckleslo You can't always use your computer and I want to be as independent as I can. I don't want to rely on my dad or my aide all my life and somtimes Jaws (the voice program) doesn't work well. Don't you like being able to just be alone and read a book? Well, we like it too!
