As an American, I'm highly disappointed in NBC. Just because those attacks did not happen in our own country does not mean it does affect America. Loss and grief are one of the few things that connect people, regardless of their race or culture. Blocking that tribute was also an insult to those who died that day. I hope that people realize that this was not the Americans viewers fault, but those NBC workers who decided to make a stupid decision without anyone else's consent.

I would rather have no Olympics whatsoever than to have to watch them thru NBC. My has CCTV from China, and on CCTV, the closing ceremony was unedited, uncensored and no commercials, a totally different experience than NBC which made you feel empty afterwords. Perhaps NBC bid too much for the Olympic coverage, or perhaps they thought the public is stupid and powerless, but next time, if PBS can't cover it, a foreign entity ought to be allowed to cover it so that Americans can have a choice.
