Leave these girls alone. The negative commentary is so unnecessary. Have you never been young and curious once??? These beautiful intelligent girls are just having fun by discovering new things. Give them a break. Not once did they mention that they wanted lighter skin, just brighter and more even. Most women, irrespective of race pursue these qualities. Get a grip...

umm did you do any research on what lemon and sun will do to your skin???? You have to use A LOT of sunblock because lemon will cause any dark spot to become darker!!!! I suggest you two beautiful girls get some 50 - 70 spf sunblock and big azz hats! Good luck!

In summer I spend a lot of time in the sun trying to get tan (even more) at least you guys have a defined color

@khalilahinjapan Your skin will only get as light as your natural color. If melanin was lost, they would most likely have vitiligo.
@1000mishi when we tan the sun doesn't tan us evenly- hence sun spots. we've had 19+ years of trying to tan evenly. it just doesn't happen. dark areas just get darker, and light areas just look more pronounced. trust me, I spend A LOT of time in the sun, fishing, swimming, etc, and even tanning just doesn't happen for me, though it's not from a lack of trying/ exposure. that's a good question though, I'm sure some other people were wondering too!

If even skin tone is what you're after, wouldn't it be easier to allow the sun to tan you evenly rather than trying to avoid the sun or lighten yourselves? From the photos, you both look nice with darker skin. And since you have no problem with dark skin, why not try it?
