htttp://www.laughteryoga.org Elderly people cannot laugh because of senile dementia and Alzheimer's disease which affects their cognitive abilities to find humour. Laughter Yoga is a non-humour is based exercise routine which brings all the benefits of laughter without involving the mind. Dr Madan Kataria started laughter Yoga in 1995. it combines laughter as a form of exercise with yogic breathing.
I've been part of laughter yoga in a nursing home and it really works well.. fake it til it comes just like he said and you naturally start laughing at each other's unique laughter, giggles and the fun naturally takes over! Even just watching this I couldnt help start to smile.. :)
