Sounds like her voice was dubbed, in post-production in Hollywood. Her accent doesn't sound authentic.
The policeman is Michael Rennie, and he doesn't have an American accent. He was English in real life.
His comment that she should be in the movies is probably intentionally ironic, because here she IS in a movie!

Yeah, I think you're right: Grace's voice must have been dubbed.
BTW, at the time this was filmed, Grace actually had five films under her belt, at least two of which featured her in the lead role. So, she was indeed already in the movies! ;)

Gee, she's kind of a little girl! In all candor, I'm in favor of her play. It's harmless to put on such an experience as a part of her life-story!

Yes, it's a wonderful cameo and great to see a young Grace Chang in full color!

In fact, Grace was criticised for her appearance in this movie, back in the 50s,some HK movie critics commented that she has downgraded herself to just a "one-minute actress " in the western production. But, for what i have seen here,I must said this is simply a great cameo appearance.Beautiful scenery and cinematography.

Interesting... I never heard about those comments. Well, in some sense, all HK stars who've appeared in Hollywood films -- then and now, small or big roles -- are downgrading themselves.
Nevertheless, this is indeed a great cameo, especially with the knowing "You should be in films" line.
