I think most of african slaves was used to entertain whites (after sugarcane or cotton fieldwork, of course). Yankees knew about their musical and rhythm knowledge. But it´s shame that no one cares about the real musicians nowadays. They rather turn on tv and stay with plastic tunes. noisome
