I've loved this song for around 30+ years and it's simply awesome! Just a pure pop ballad but there's something WEIRD about this song....as though it should have been in the "WICKER MAN" or something? Imagine sitting round a campfire listening to this back in the early 70s rolling a (you know what..) and smoking it as though it's your very last! - Love the line "Watch the clouds sail by inside my head" infact this song is SO far out, EVERY verse in this song sends me in a quiver. It's the flipside of their pop hit "WHEN I'M DEAD AND GONE" but man....this side is TOO much! Lovely harmonys and a nice clip-clop-pop beat. Just turn this sound up, close your eyes and you'll forget the problems of the world. you'll simply FLOAT along forever and believe it's still 1970! A VERY underated pop ballad this, well done Mr.McGuinness Flint.

  • "Produced by Glyn Johns" ..... well, no wonder it's good: Glyn Johns will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland (as a non-performer) in April, 2012.

  • It has been years since I have heard this b/w to When I'm Dead and Gone.

    Thankyou. :)

  • wot dj5684 said !

  • Absolutely brilliant. Have always loved this song, it's just so different, love it love it love it, thanks so much for uploading it!!!!!!!!!!

  • @peaceangwilltoall correct, it only took me 31 years to work that one out. All that stuff does, is make people extremely boring!! haha

  • @incongra

Wow man £16 Great British Pounds for an Oz of Afghani, pre all the shit over the last 30 yerars over there.... Respect

    BUT DONT DO DRUGS>>>>THEYRE BADDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • A HUGE thank you for posting this fabulous song!

I've still got the 45 of this, the B side of When I'm Dead And Gone.

I was really knocked out when I eventually flipped over the A side and heard this, what a little gem of a song!

The line that goes "all night thinking how she threw my love aside" has stuck in my head for, what is it now, 40 years!, bloody hell!

  • Nice one, I got stoned a few times listening to this, £16 pounds an ounce for Afghani..... we wlll never see THOSE days again....

  • Thankyou for posting, I played this loads of times back in 1970.....

  • On this and several other tracks, McG-F blended electric guitars and brass instruments in an effective and haunting manner that was pretty much unique to them. How one wishes they'd been able to keep it together for another few years.
