Flying From HEOC,6th October Airport To HECA, Cairo International Airport on G-BUXD Maule 7 , 160 HP

Video From my First flight on a GA Aircraft With Ross Edmondson , onboard G-BUXD a Maule 7 160 HP Aircraft with a MTOW of 1 Ton From HEOC, 6th October Airport to HECA, Cairo International Airport ...

No need to mention that this was a life time chance as General Aviation almost don't exist in Egypt apart from the Egyptian Aviation Academy And flying a Maule to HECA (Cairo Intl. Airport) is another thing that could rarely happen in a one's life

The Flight took place on 12th June 2011, at around 1300z and for around 1 Hour doing an Average Ground speed of 100 KTS and IAS of around 85 KTS pretty good Tail wind !

We were allowed to depart by October Tower and our clearance was to climb to 6000ft (FL060) Overhead October Runway 01 on left turns , And winds were 19 kts !!!

Crossing 4500ft we were instructed to switch to Cairo Director who cleared us to FL060 (6000FT) and Direct to the Cairo VOR (CVO) later on we could spot the Giza Pyramids to the Left of us and followed by Helwan Airport which was an old Air force base at the time of th British occupation to Egypt , I don't know if it's still used or not ... Later on we could spot Another 2 pyramids which were probably the bent pyramid and Dahshur Pyramid

We were then vectored around Al Katamia area and Maadi followed by overflying New Cairo (Al Qahira Al Gadeda and Rehab City) for 1 NM Final for Visual Approach Runway 23R at Cairo we were then instructed to taxi to Uniform Area where we parked the aircraft and met our handlers !

@pilotanas Thanks Anas .. HEOC is mainly for GA as it's not an international airport so you need first an airport of entry also it don't have JETA1 only AVGAS is available there ... Thanks again for your comment
