If you must have a positive angle, you can use a coterminal angle. Any coterminal angle would have the same trig function values. Coterminal angles have the same terminal side in std position. You can add or subtract 360 degrees or 2pi to find a coterminal angle. For example if you have -30 degrees, -30 + 360 = 330, so 330 degrees is coterminal to -30 degrees and will have the same reference angle and trig function values.

You're going to fast, it would be nice if there was a simple examples at first. You just threw a big equations at us. Without really working up to it.

Sometimes when finding the angle from the complex form I get a negatice angle, I had to find a positive number. Teacher said something about finding a angle which would relate to the negative angle I got, and find the quadrant in which the complex number would be in and find it there. However, it doesn't always work and I don't know if she is wrong or should I just find its positive corresponding angle diregarding the quadrant?
