@graycloud057 AND...we (flight attendants) were treated with the same respect you'd treat a host or hostess in their home...but trust me, that doesn't happen anymore either.

Ahh the good old days when you could get on a 727 and be treated like you were a person by a human that cared. So long freedom.

look like a northwest md-82 colors

I wish that planes still had the black nose/radar covers. Brings back memories of being a kid in Atlanta in the 70's when planes had them, like Eastern and others. Not sure about Delta, if they had the black noses.

@CRM09ify, back then the new DC-9s were called the "Super 80."

this airline had the best service i know of. to bad delta doesnt take a lesson from this airline. the employees really cared about their jobs and it showed.

That doesn't look like a DC-9, it looks like an MD-80 or 82

A flight from LA to Oakland used to cost at an economy class $20 for Republic Airlines(1982). Now it cost between $100-$200 for a third class the with the same distance(2010).

First plane I ever went on was a Republic DC-9 from DC to Orlando. It was kids fly free with 10 Chex cereal boxes promotion.
Sure miss the $19 fares between Seattle and San Francisco! We used to go down for lunch on Saturdays just for fun when I first moved to Seattle 27 years ago! Those were the days.

As someone who grew up in the 70's, I really can't believe how much this country, and this world, completely and utterly suck in the 21st Century.
God, I want my country back.
