My 1965 Dodge Dart 270 with a GT interior. I just got this and am using it as my daily driver now. I am currently building a 340 stroked to 418 motor for it. Until then the stout slant 6 works just fine.

  • @mherbold yeah the stripe. I have a 270 and it has different trim. It looks like 170 trim except 170 trim is chrome and yours looks black. Its possible it's a 170 that was wrongly titled. Mine was titled as a 64 for a long time ( never let your mom title a car for you).

  • @yourfreindthewalrus The car was definitely born a 270 (the vin nbrs verify that) and it has all the original 270 badging. I think that stripe was probably a dealer add-on.

  • That's not 270 trim.

  • @yourfreindthewalrus What trim are you referring to? The stripe on the outside?

  • I like the column shifter and floor shifter. Great lookin car! You should keep that slant, people are surprised to look under the hood of a nice MoPar and find one sitting there still...

  • @Raiden7800 LOL The column shifter does nothing. I already got a manual shift column (column with nothing on it) in a box somewhere. Will put that on eventually. :-)

  • It just seams weird that some one would down grade there 270. Search 65 dodge dart 270 on google and see the different trim

  • I had an actual GT that was handed down to me. It had a lame 198 six but when you are a sophomore in high school you don't look gift horses in the mouth. Anyway, I would have killed for a real 270. A lot of them came with A/C and living in S Fl maybe I would have sold my soul for A/C. A great car nonetheless, original sculpted design just in the beginning of MOPAR's heyday.

  • the last bit scared the shit out of me :P

  • @Raiden7800 Still working on it. Block is back at the machine shop. They line bored the mains to the wrong size (2.5 thousandths too small).
