New Flyer D40LF #5896 was on the 124 heading towards the King of Prussia Shopping Mall (Bus Terminal...Transit Center...whatever). This clip takes us along 29th St and onto the Schuylkill Expwy (I-76) and pulling into a small shack...I mean the Wissahickon Transportation Center in Gulph Mills, PA. By the way, special appearances by New Flyer D40LF #5662 operating "Not In Service" or "SEPTA" and New Flyer D40LF #5918 on the 27. Both heading towards Philadelphia...or Center City...whatever!

This was a very nice ride. I just wish I had the REPOWERED Cummins New Flyers on this route! That would have made my freakin day...LOL! Enjoy!

  • Actually the 2004 New Flyers are underway. They will sound like their younger sister 2005 models who has Cummins ISL/ZF transmission.

  • "Younger Sisters"? What numbers are those?

  • those DD50 ZFers still sound good though.

  • no prob!!!

  • oh ok thats for the infomation.

  • thats because they're governed now for revenue service, thats why they only hit up to that speed, but trust me the new flyers can hit up to that speed easy without the governers on them especially the Cummins units

  • and the DE41LF's dont even go that fast only 50 to 60 mph.

  • buses dont go that fast on the expressway only go between 60 to 70 mph.

  • lol u guys should check out the new septa DE41LF's those buses run!!!!! i remember when they were testing on I-95 they where do atleast 75-80mph!!! and their acceleration are quick as hell just like a car

  • Yep, same here. I think Metro Transit and MVTA buses are governed between 65 - 70 mph though.

  • LOL never been on it, I was referring to riding on my home system in Minneapolis.

Someday in the future though i'll get to SEPTAland and then i'd like to try that route :-)

  • do you like riding the bus on the I-76 schuylkill expressway?
