Patched Ex-Conrail SD60I 6761 and C40-9W 9041 lead a train of primarily autoracks westbound through Horseshoe Curve on October 11, 2008. This is not the first time that I've seen an autorack train with a single covered hopper leading the consist; see my 6.21.08 footage from Cassandra, PA for another example.

Repost of an earlier clip, now in HD.

  • I can understand that if it's tank cars or other hazmat, but I'm not so sure for autoracks...probably just some priority freight - somebody needs their dry bulk material RIGHT NOW. :) I did see yet another autorack train at Cresson this trip that had even more general freight on the point, 6 cars or so.
