Washington -- Today, Club for Growth.Net released a new television ad in New Mexico. The $175,000 ad buy will run for two weeks on broadcast and cable throughout the state.
Entitled "Budget," the ad educates people in New Mexico about Rep. Heather Wilson's record on important economic issues, like taxes, spending, and health care. In Congress, Heather Wilson has joined the Democrats in voting for two tax increases, a slew of outrageous pork projects, and the expanded government-run health care program contained in the SCHIP bill. In contrast, Rep. Wilson's colleague Rep. Steve Pearce voted against wasteful spending, against raising taxes, and against the Democrat's government-run health care program. Hopefully, people in New Mexico will call Heather Wilson and tell her to stop voting with the Democrats and vote with her Republican colleague, Steve Pearce.
"This ad seeks to educate people in New Mexico about Heather Wilson's tax-and-spend record in Congress, and the best way to do that is by presenting a contrast," said Club for Growth President Pat Toomey. "New Mexico has two Republican congressional members. One votes with the Democrats for tax increases and wasteful spending—that's Heather Wilson. The other votes against tax increases and wasteful spending—that's Steve Pearce. We hope the ad encourages people in New Mexico to call Rep. Wilson and ask her to vote more like Steve Pearce."
