This sequence contains a few clips from a 1981 WBZ-TV/Boston "Eyewitness News" broadcast. Of note are the mechanical weatherboards that were common on local TV news before the evolution of advanced computer graphics. The weathermen at this station drew on Formica maps using water-soluble markers. After each newscast, they would take a pail of water over to the boards to mop them clean.
The text that appears on the screen was created by an early electronic character generator manufactured by System Resources called the Chyron (or Chiron) II (two).
Barry Burbank, David Scott and Bob Nuemeier appear on this weekend 6:00 P.M. newscast.
All rights are acknowledged.
in 1981 there were 48 teams in the NCAA now there are 65.

@ramtough07 I hate the Bawstin accents. They make the news people sound uneducated and stupid and ignorant.

@newscenter5 that is true, and at that time he was paired up with Robin Young's replacement, Dianne Willis.
