  • @malachy1847 Thanks. That's probably a good thing; every now and then we'll hear of a plumber setting someone's house on fire. If it's in the "water box" that adjoins the bathroom, it will sometimes burn a hole through the roof. Newer buildings with flexible tube have solder less fittings here, but anything older than 15 years is usually soldered. I wouldn't need a diverter, since it's on taps from the main loop. The ones I've seen have a remote hydraulic control like an oven thermostat.

  • @lrd9999 Compression fittings are the norm in europe which gets around the soldering issue ... we also also push on fitting over copper and Pex!!!! are also used in europe....Just a thought you could consider three port diverter / bypass valves walves on wired to roomthermostats might give you more control over your system....

  • Yes, radiators like this are rare in the US; I've only seen them in public buildings. My baseboard radiators are soldered in place, so installing a valve like this would be more complicated, though they make solder-in thermostatic valves with remote adjusters for systems like mine.

  • Well it's a bit late now. It was a year ago that I posted that comment. In the end I got a qualified plumber to install a system that I put in place! the best way to install a central heating system! Hang the boiler and the radiators and get the plumber to join them up!

  • i hope not

  • Very good. Is this all shot in the USA. It's amazing as everything in the video could be in the UK! I'm thinking of fitting my own central heating system with a combination boiler and 11 radiators. By law I can't fit the boiler but I could fit the system. Have you any videos on how to do this?
