Absolutely fair comment. I can't remember writing this comment and feel differently about what I have said. Graduates should feel free to choose where they should celebrate and yes, the marae wouldn't be able to cater for all graduates, friends and families but I know they would do their best to try.
No it's actually customary to parade through the city center after the graduation ceremony, which is normally held nearby the university. I don't think the uni marae would be able to take the quarter of graduates and their friends ans family attending.
The bag pipes give me the chills. Two more years of hard work before I graduate...

This should be celebrated at the Uni. That's where you studied, wasn't it? As a student in NZ, it's really customary to celebrate at the uni marae.
