Following closely on the release of his 13th album, Compass, Joshua Redman discusses his place in the history of jazz with critic Gary Giddins.
Joshua Redman has been an award-winning saxophonist and bandleader for over 15 years.
His recordings include Wish, Moodswing, Beyond, and Elastic.
Gary Giddins is the author of nine books, including Visions of Jazz: The First Century, for which he won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Criticism.
That song called "Insomnomaniac" remind me of a song written long time ago which the great brazilian composer Hermeto Pascoal arranged in the same kind of feel (look for "Asa Branca").

this interview is so great. the greatest critic of all time converses with the most
