NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Melic 4146) Out of Los Angeles, this 1964 release by a then thirty-three year old Damita Jo, sounds as if the inspiration for the arrangement was the sparse gospel style of Ketty Lester's 1962 hit, LOVE LETTERS. Damita Jo DeBlanc, who's vocal delivery was quite similar to that of Capitol Records jazz/pop singer, Nancy Wilson was an actress, comedian and lounge singer that achieved her biggest chart success with two answer songs. 1960's I'LL SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR YOU, the answer to The Drifter's hit, SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR ME. The other being, 1961's I'LL BE THERE, the answer song to Ben E. King's STAND BY ME.
beautiful voice, beautiful piano!!!
