Any music over 25 years old is open to sampling iwthout paying the original artist/writer/prodcuer et al. All copyright protection is null after 25 years.

That's not true because before Kanye was really famous or rich he produced a track for Memphis Bleek that sampled Michael Jackson. So where did he get the money to clear that sample because last time I checked Kanye use to work at the GAP?
