Pride Idol is an exciting, six-week competition styled after AMERICAN IDOL. Judges provide feedback on performances and score each singer based on their skills. Audience members contribute votes as well via text-message voting.

Emceeing the event is Toddicus, Houstons wittier, more fashionable version of Seacrest.

A trio of judges selected the 10 singers in the semifinals, including: Ernie Manouse, a popular PBS anchor/producer who has emceed the Pride Parade for 10 years; Joey Guerra, music critic and American Idol blogger for the Houston Chronicle; and Vanessa Riley, a local designer who appeared on the inaugural season of Bravos Project Runway.

The winner of Pride Idol receives an amazing set of prizes, including $1,000 worth of studio time and a two-song demo recorded at Grammy winning Urbana Studios in Houston, home of iconic group La Mafia.

Winnings also include a Halloween cruise courtesy of Gay Yellow Pages and Gayribbean Cruises; an opportunity to sing at the Pride Festival (June 27); and a prime slot in the nighttime Pride Parade (June 27).
