@jayteelicious1 are u sure the ppl u saw abusing animals were greek!?!?...living in greece doesnt make u greek.....and nowdays maybe only 60% of greeces population are greek...!!!!!...so watch ur words till u know ....i have 3 dogs and i love em very much...so does my friend..!!!

Jaytee unfortunately you are very right. dare I say though that this is due to the amalgamation of cultures...Greeks were animal lovers by default but this is one of the visible effects after 400 years of co-habitation with the Turks. Of course I do not blame the Turks for the situation today...Something similar happens in London now where animal abuse takes place quite frequently because of the multi-cultural character of the city. The big difference is that in Britain people do get punished

...Animals do not harm anyone and they should be treated with respect. I love animals and it breaks my heart to see how they suffer in greece because they have nobody to care for them. Not only are they "homeless", they often get abused by some sickos, e.g. pouring hot oil or acid on dogs/cats, hang them, burn them etc. It's barbaric, cruel and beyond belief!
